Surface or Reflection

ART - ILLUSTRATION - LAYOUT

about my art
My work shifts between naturalism and abstract art. Through movement, superimposition and interconnection, individual elements are detached from the familiar, only to come together again beyond the formal in an expanded framework of lines, planes, and structures. I am interested in the interwoven and the tangled; contrasts appeal to me. In this way, I seek to create connections and make links visible that reflect the multifaceted nature and complexity of our world. Personal impulses, thoughts, and emotions flow into the painting process; inner and outer worlds intertwine. Landscape and figure are always to be understood as synonyms; they condense into points of reflection in which a human being is portrayed interacting with their surroundings and environment. Everything is interconnected, influences one another, and is subject to constant change. In my work, I navigate between themes of dissolution, rupture, and a unifying new beginning; I aim to provide impulses for allowing a change of perspective from time to time. My paintings are intended to draw attention to an in itself interwoven concept of the world around us, in the hope of fostering greater respect in our treatment of nature, all living things and the resources at our disposal.

My painting techniques include pencil, watercolor, and acrylic paint, as well as ink and oil paint, often on wood, but also on paper or canvas. In addition to traditional painting, I add manual printing techniques, collage elements, and alternative materials such as fabric to my work and I also make use of digital possibilities.
